I'm trying to re-follow everyone I can on other social networks, but the prospect of re-building a fascinating online community is, frankly, overwhelming. I hope when the dust settles we can all find each other again!

In 2013 or so I realized that my Twitter experience was an echo chamber and I went out of my way to find people who weren't like me. Artists, historians, scholars. People who are LGBTQIA+, folks from other walks of life. It completely changed my world view.

I remember joining Twitter in early 2007 - I delayed as I was building a Y Combinator startup that was doing mobile-based messaging at the same time in 2006 and was jealous/didn't want to be influenced. The startup couldn't get funding, so I broke my "feud" and signed up.

Also, having 250k+ followers is both a blessing and a curse - incredible to contemplate, but also makes tweeting a near-impossible proposition. I'm hoping that Mastodon may yield a better audience? https://t.co/iMdDmkrUuD @jeresig@mastodon.social Let's keep in touch on there!

Even though I don't post on here that much, Twitter has had a profound impact on my life. I've met so many amazing people and it's dramatically changed my world view, for the better. No idea what the future of the site is, but I'm so glad we got to spend some time here together!

Github Copilot continues to be the wildest thing I've used during development.
